YAMI - soft frozen yogurt

My favourite yogurt by far, fuss-free soft serve which comes in palatable flavours like peach, lychee, original, raspberry but i always go for peach flavour with cranberry toppings, if available.

Regular cup: S$2.30 plus S$0.95 for toppings = S$ 3.25

available in many outlets across the island.

Carousel - Royal Plaza on Scotts

Every Christmas, the both of us will make it a point to have a good meal outside. For 2010, we chose Carousel. For non-festive period, dinner on Weekdays (Mon to Thurs) - S$ 58 nett and Weekends (Fri-Sun) S$ 70 nett. We chose 16 Dec 10 which falls on a Thurs just before they mark up 20% for Christmas the following day. Of course, early booking 2 weeks before was necessary to secure seats.

Call 6589 7799 or email: carousel@royalplaza.com.sg to make reservations.

Alice in the Wonderland theme, it's one of the rare halal buffet in Singapore which offers such wide range of fresh seafood.

Fruits

Ice cream

Delightful desserts

Fondue!

Selection of meal carved out. You realise we dont have much pictures of the spread from the buffet line because photography of the buffet line was STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED. You may wish to pose in front of the buffet line for desperate measures.

We have bits and pieces from the buffet line - chicken char siew, spinach and mushroom, brussels sprouts, dory fish, stewed duck

Turkey with cranberry toppings and beef which i felt was too raw and tough.

Fish maw soup - please be smart to scoop the precious maws from the bottom of the pot. We see some patrons too shy to scoop and end up with "clear soup".

Fresh oysters - please remember the thousand island sauce, tar tar sauce and lemon slices.

Fresh sashimi, we skipped the sushi line because it was predictable.

I went straight to the crustaceans line - Alaskan crab legs. In case you are wondering how to eat them, you may ask the waiter for a "scissors" that is intended for the long leggy crab. Shells are rather thin so you can snip them apart with less stress.

Chilled lobsters, ultra sinful but the roe of the lobsters was really fresh and good. Love.

Steamed/chilled prawns are good too.

I secretly snap a photo of the dessert line. Pretty isnt it.
